The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a pandemic recognizing that the H1N1 flu virus has become a global contagion. As reported by WHO’s Dr. Director-General, Dr. Margaret Chan, “the virus appears to have moderate severity in comparatively well-off countries.” Although we have not seen large numbers of severe cases in the United States, admittedly things could possibly change. At present, the H1N1 flu symptoms appear to be similar to that of seasonal flu. Practice good hygiene, know how to minimize exposure to flu, and report any symptoms of fever or other illness to your chaperone or the staff immediately upon feeling ill.
